What's on a Prompt & Present gift list, and what can I change?
A Prompt & Present gift list is one page of up to ten gifts, each linked to a product on Amazon with a sentence on why it suits you. As its maker you can remove any gift, swap up to three for your assistant's next ideas, and replace a search link with a product you choose.
What is on the page?
- The name of your list and how many gifts it holds.
- Buttons to copy the link, send it by text or email, or open your phone's share sheet.
- One tile for each gift: its number, a small drawing for the kind of product, the product's name, what the gift is for, and one sentence on why it suits you.
- A short note on a tile when something needs care: a size to confirm, a comparable product chosen because the exact one was not found, or a link that opens an Amazon search.
- A line above the gifts saying that we earn from qualifying purchases as an Amazon Associate.
Why are there no prices or photos?
Prices change, so the only price we point to is the current one on Amazon's own page. The drawings stand in for product photos, which we do not copy from Amazon.
What can I change?
- Remove a gift. It leaves the list for good; there is no undo, and the gap is not refilled. To replace a gift, use the next button.
- Show the next idea. This swaps a gift for the next idea your assistant ranked. You get three swaps per list, and only while spare ideas remain.
- Add the Amazon link. A gift that opens a search has this button. Paste the Amazon product page you would choose and the tile links to it.
You cannot yet reorder the gifts, rewrite a sentence or add a gift of your own.
How do I get back to my list to edit it?
The browser you made it in remembers that the list is yours. For another device, your list page shows an owner link to copy and keep. Use the owner link too if you made the list inside an app such as Instagram or Facebook, or if you clear your cookies. Share the public link with other people, never the owner link, because anyone holding the owner link can edit the list.
Can I start over?
Yes. You can remake your list once right away, and after that once every three days. A new list made in the same browser replaces the old one, and the old link takes people to the new list.
How do I delete a list?
Open "Report this list" at the foot of the page and ask for it to be deleted, or email hello@promptandpresent.com with the link. We delete it by hand.
