How Prompt & Present works: a gift list made with ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini

Prompt & Present turns what your AI assistant knows about you into a gift list. You answer a few questions, copy one prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, and paste its reply back. We match its ideas to products on Amazon and give you a page of up to ten gifts to share with friends and family.

What do I need?

An assistant you have used for a while, with its memory turned on, and a few minutes. There is no account to create and nothing to pay. How to get ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini to write your gift wish list covers which assistant to pick and how to set it up.

What are the steps?

The site shows five.

  1. Gift basics. A price range, the kinds of gifts to focus on or avoid, and a name for your list if you want one.
  2. Use your assistant. Copy the prompt, paste it into a new chat in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, and send it. This part happens in your assistant, not on our site. It ends by printing a block of gift descriptions with a copy button.
  3. Paste its reply. Bring that block back and press Make my list. Building the page takes about a minute.
  4. View and edit. Look the list over. Remove anything you do not want, or swap a gift for your assistant's next idea.
  5. Share. Send the link. Anyone who has it can open the list and buy from it without a Prompt & Present account.

What does my assistant write?

Not products. It writes short gift descriptions: what each gift is for, what it must and must not be, and one sentence a friend can read. The prompt asks for at least twelve, ranked, so there are spares.

How do the ideas become products?

We take the ideas in your assistant's order and look for one specific product on Amazon that fits each, and drop any whose Amazon page no longer exists. The first ten that match go on your page and the rest wait in reserve. When an idea has no match we move to the next one, and use an Amazon search link only if too few ideas match.

The matching is automated and nobody checks each product by hand, so read your list before you share it. The privacy page names the service that does the matching.

What do the people I share it with see?

The gifts, without your price range or the notes your assistant wrote for us. Someone sent me a gift list. How do I use it? is written for them.

What does Prompt & Present see?

Your answers to the opening questions, and the whole block you paste, including the short evidence notes behind each idea. We also record visits and clicks, and the site carries Meta and OpenAI ad pixels. The privacy page lists everything. We cannot see your assistant's memory or your account.

What does it cost?

Nothing. Amazon pays us a commission when someone buys through a gift link, and the buyer pays the usual price. How does Prompt & Present make money? has the detail.

Make your own gift list

Your ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini already knows what you like. A few questions and one prompt turn that into a list friends and family can buy from.
